Speaking of the relation of the Charjyapada to Odia, I can tell you about another fascinating thing. Latter Odia literature is replete with these esoteric Natha ideas too. Here’s one of the earliest examples by an equally Mahasiddha-like mysterious figure who famously lived in a cave, and was called a ‘lion’. Sandhya-bhasha and strange metaphors run through this and hundreds of other Odia poems. Even in the 19th-century and also today, a remnant lives on in Odisha in the form of Bhima Bhoi’s Mahima Dharma. Here’s the link, in case you hadn’t seen this.
